Update 1.2 RELEASE


UPDATE 1.2

This update should be way huge, but I decided to split it in THREE so it doesn't make it as difficult for debugging as it already is. I hope I can count with your feedback!


New Features:

  • Quick Battle Mode-> Your nexus vs enemy nexus, 3 spawns each. The first one to destroy the nexus wins.
  • New Enemy IA-> Enemies now have behaviours, which changes if certain conditions are met: they can explore, dominate objectives, attack or even flee.
  • Map Generation-> Now we use Perlin Noise for map generation! No more random non-sense terrains. Also, Map Size is now available in Small, Standard and Huge sizes.
  • Map Exploration-> The map will start pitch black. Both you neither the enemy will now where each base is. Discover it and earn advantage in the combat.
  • Fog of War-> Now, VISIBILITY is a thing in HoloTactics. You can only target enemies if they're visible for your idols.
  • Items-> Finally, there are items in the game! Combine two items in a character to activate an effect, like status upgrades or banners.
  • Banners-> A banner can be created when putting together two gem items. If the idol with the banner has no secondary class and origin, they'll now count as an idol from the banner's class. See more about this update classes below.
  • Objectives: Obelisks-> Obelisks will raise on the map to give you tasks. The red obelisk tasks envolve killing enemies around it, while the blue obelisks tasks are defending it. Finish it task to receive an item.
  • Objectives: Domination Point-> In a random place in the map, a strange tower is visible for everyone. Who dominates the tower receives a huge bonus in damage amplification and reduction!
  • Crystals-> Crystals are available everywhere in the map. Collecting it will take some turns, but will reward you with some gold and perhaps a random item if you're lucky.
  • Fear and Camouflage-> New CCs available, Fear will make enemies flee towards their nexus no matter what. Meanwhile, Camouflage makes you invulnerable of being a target to enemies. Also, every CC now colors the character, making it easier to understand what is affecting the character/enemy.


New Synergies available:

  • Civilization;
  • Death;
  • Eldritch;
  • Legends;
  • Mafia;
  • Robots;
  • Rodents;
  • Swordmasters;
  • HoloX.


New Characters available:

  • Takane Lui-> Tier B / HoloX / Bird;
  • Sakamata Chloe-> Tier B / HoloX / Naval;
  • Hakui Koyori-> Tier S / HoloX / Dogs;
  • Kazama Iroha-> Tier SS / HoloX / Nature / Swordmaster;
  • Laplus Darkness-> Tier SSS/ HoloX / Eldritch / Witch.


Other Changes:

  • Choco is now Tier B;
  • Nene is now a NAVAL idol;
  • Ayame is now Tier A and also Underworld/Swordmaster;
  • Subaru is now tier A and also Bird/Civilization;
  • Haachama is now only Eldritch;
  • Mio is now Tier S;
  • Rushia is now Tier SS;
  • Almost all classes had it's effects reworked;
  • Survival mode has been removed.


Bug Fixes:

A lot. Like really, a lot. I can't even keep track of them and I really regret a lot of my code the way it was done. And there is probably still bugs, so please let me know any new ones.


Things that are not available yet in this update and will come in 1.3:

  • Rodent and Elf banner for all classes-> To make Banners work, I'm doing a great rework on every idol skill, but not all of them are done. Actually, for this update, I only made it available for the HoloX characters, since they're the only ones I actually tested.
  • Action Per Turn-> Like Banners, only HoloX characters waste actions per turn when using a skill, like a normal attack. I'm testing if it's a good feature, but the reason not every character has it activated for now is the exactly same reason that the one above.
  • HoloID-> Yes, I said they would be available for 1.2, but honestly, they're not nearly as good as I would like to, in every aspect. So, I'll just give more time to make them look and feel better to play.
  • Campaign-> New game mode.

1.3 is expected to be a smaller update than 1.2, with some features that did not make through 1.2. Still, they won't be available at least until February.

Lesson learned: SMALL UPDATES now only. I can't take it anymore writing +5000 lines of code and then when I think it's ready to releasing, something is seriously wrong and I have to check it all. Also, I'm looking for a job, so I think it will fits easier in my schedule if I slow down a bit this game development.
